Ring Tree Light · Set of 6 Panels

Light the tree.
Not the lawn.

Two ground stakes throw two hot spots on the grass and leave the trunk black. A ring at the base wraps the whole tree in 360° of warm light — up the bark, into the canopy, no glare in your eyes.

The problem with spotlights

A spotlight aims one narrow beam upward. Where it hits, the leaves blow out white. Everything else — the trunk, the branch structure, the shape of the tree — stays in shadow. From the street, your landscaping reads as a bright patch on a dark lawn.

A ring light does the opposite. Twelve LEDs sit in a circle around the base and graze up the trunk. The bark catches the light first, then the branches, then the canopy — the same way a well-lit courtyard works. The fixture itself disappears into the planting bed.

Why it works

Built to be forgotten about

360° from the trunk

Six curved panels form a continuous ring around the base. Light leaves in every direction at once, so the tree glows as a shape instead of a smear.

Anti-dazzle glass lens

Each LED sits behind a heat-resistant glass lens and a wavy skirt. The light climbs the trunk and canopy — it does not blind anyone walking past.

Aluminium, fully potted

The housing is die-cast aluminium for heat and corrosion, with the cavity filled with sealing compound and every cable joint a screw-together waterproof connector. Rated IP65.

15.35" to 18.11"

Standard inner diameter is 39 cm. Swap the connecting blocks for the wider setting and the same six panels open to 46 cm for a thicker trunk.

Ring light vs. spotlight

  This ring light Typical spotlight
Coverage 360°, all sides of the trunk One narrow cone
Glare Lensed and shielded, hidden in the bed Visible source, hot spots on grass

Wiring One plug-in 24V transformer per ring Usually needs a transformer plus cable runs
Best for Feature trees, palms, multi-stem specimens Walls, fences, low shrubs

Sizing

One ring per tree. How many trees?

Each set lights one tree. The ring is 39 cm across as shipped and opens to 46 cm — it clears trunks up to roughly 35 cm standard, 43 cm expanded. Measure at the base, where the ring sits.

1 tree — front bed, specimen palm, patio feature 1 set
2 trees — matched pair at the entrance or driveway 2 sets
3 trees — a line along the fence or property edge 3 sets
4 trees — whole front yard, palms around a pool 4 sets

Every ring ships with its own transformer and plug, so multiple trees can run from separate outlets or an outdoor power strip.

Installation

Twenty minutes, one outlet, no electrician

This is a plug-in low-voltage fixture — not solar, and not a 120V fixture you hardwire. It does not need an electrician, a trench, or a junction box.

01 Assemble the ring around the trunk at the base. Bolt the six panels with the connecting blocks; leave them out for the wider 46 cm setting.
02 Stake it down with the six ground stakes so the ring sits level and stays put through weather.
03 Plug the transformer into a standard outdoor 120V outlet. If the outlet is far, run an outdoor extension cord to the transformer — the 24V side is what reaches the ring.

A timer or smart plug at the outlet gives you dusk-to-dawn without touching the fixture.

What it costs to run

72W for six hours a night is about 0.43 kWh daily — roughly $27 a year at a typical US rate of $0.17/kWh. LED, 24V, no bulbs to change.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Is this solar?

No. It is a wired low-voltage fixture. The included driver has a 120V plug and outputs 24V to the ring — it needs a household outlet, not sunlight.

Where does the transformer go?

At the outlet, not at the tree. Plug it in, then run the low-voltage lead to the ring. If the outlet is further than the lead reaches, an outdoor extension cord on the 120V side solves it.

Will it fit my trunk?

The ring is 39 cm inner diameter as shipped and opens to 46 cm by removing the connecting blocks. Measure the trunk where the ring will sit — up to about 35 cm standard, 43 cm expanded.

Can I link several rings together?

Each ring is a complete set with its own transformer and plug, so multiple trees run from separate outlets or an outdoor power strip.

Can I dim it or control it from my phone?

No — output is fixed at 3000K warm white. That is deliberate: nothing to pair, nothing to reset, nothing that stops working when an app does. Use a plug-in dimmer or timer at the outlet if you want scheduling.

Will rain or sprinklers damage it?

The housing is fully potted and rated IP65, with screw-together waterproof connectors at every joint. It is built for permanent outdoor installation.

Does the fixture get hot?

The aluminium body is the heat sink, and the glass lens is heat-resistant. Keep mulch clear of the lens face and it runs within spec indefinitely.

What if a panel fails?

The set carries a 5-year warranty on the LED panels and driver. Contact us with your order number and we replace the part.

Impressive output, clean look, and surprisingly easy install

"These ring tree lights look fantastic once installed. The 3000K warm white is spot on, bright enough to really showcase the trunk and canopy without looking harsh or commercial. At night, the effect is dramatic but tasteful, more high-end landscape lighting than typical DIY gear."

"The light distribution is even, with no weird hotspots, and the rings disappear visually once the tree is lit, which is exactly what you want. We've had heavy rain since installing and everything has worked perfectly."

Amazing tree illumination — worth every penny

"These lights are outstanding. They illuminate the entire tree from the base up, creating a stunning visual effect. Be sure to use a 24-volt power supply that can handle the total wattage — anything less will result in noticeably dimmer lights."

"Since my trees are not planted in a flat area, I chose not to use the included stakes. Instead, I simply wrapped the lights around the base of each tree, allowing them to rest about a foot off the ground."

Luxury upgrade with simple lighting

"The ring lights up our entire massive oak tree, base to tip. So much luxury for such a small price. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to upgrade the look of their yard."

Powerful uplights

"These lights are very easily connected and can be aimed/balanced with ease with the provided mounting accessories. Once the fixture driver is plugged into a 120VAC outlet the fixtures deliver a powerful beam of light that can easily be used for 30'+ tall palm trees. My only notes (coming from an electrical construction background) would be: 1) There is no 'feed end' option which would allow the fixtures to connect to a receptacle from either the left hand or right hand side. Currently the lights are configured to have power source feed on the right side of the trees. Feeding from left hand side will not give the 'wrapping' effect. 2) The length of the driver/power feed is only about 2' from the feed end to the first fixture. It would be excellent to be able to purchase a driver that has a longer feed as plugging this fixture into an extension cord is not approved for permanent installation."

"The color temperature, brightness and quality of these lights is well above what I expected from an Amazon purchase, with a great price point."

Works as described

"Easy to set up. I was worried that the light wouldn't illuminate the whole underside of our tree, but it looks great and really makes a statement in our backyard."
