How a ring light works
A spotlight aims one narrow beam at a tree and hopes for the best. The trunk stays dark, the leaves blow out white, and everything lands on the lawn. HaloRing works the other way around: six curved panels sit in a circle at the base of the trunk and throw light upward from every side at once.
The bark catches the light first, then the branch structure, then the canopy. That is why a ring-lit tree reads as a shape at night instead of a bright patch on the grass — and why the fixture itself disappears into the planting bed.
Install it in three steps
1. Assemble the ring. Bolt the six panels together around the trunk with the included connecting blocks. Leave the blocks out to open the ring from 39 cm to 46 cm.
2. Stake it down. Six ground stakes hold the ring level at the base of the tree and keep it put through weather.
3. Plug it in. The included 24V transformer has a standard 120V plug. Put it at an outdoor outlet and run the low-voltage lead to the ring. No electrician, no trench, no junction box.
This is a wired low-voltage fixture, not a solar light. It needs a household outlet — and in return it runs at full brightness on the darkest night of the year, not at whatever the day's cloud cover allows.
Will it fit your tree?
The ring ships at 39 cm inner diameter and opens to 46 cm. Measure the trunk where the ring will sit — roughly 20 cm above the soil line.
- Trunks up to about 35 cm: standard setting
- Trunks up to about 43 cm: expanded setting (connecting blocks removed)
- Thicker than that: the ring will not close around the trunk — use two sets on either side, or a different fixture
What's in the box
Six LED panels, six connecting blocks, 24 block screws, six ground stakes with six screws, one 24V transformer with plug, and one silicone end cap. Every ring ships with its own transformer, so multiple trees run from separate outlets or an outdoor power strip.
What it costs to run
72W for six hours a night is about 0.43 kWh a day — roughly $27 a year at a typical US rate of $0.17/kWh. LED, 24V, no bulbs to change.
